Knoxville Fall CSA

CSA is FULL! Thank you!

We will be offering a 9-week CSA running from September 5 through October 31.

What’s a csa?

CSA stands for community-supported agriculture. It started as a way for communities to buy into farms before the start of the growing season, so farmers could receive the capital and information they needed to start their season. Share members receive a portion of the farm’s weekly harvest and get to witness the farm change throughout the year. I view it as an easy way to consistently support local farms and receive great veggies.

Is a CSA Right FOr ME?

It depends! A CSA is a great option if you don’t mind trying new things and like most vegetables. By including information like recipes and storage tips with each share, we aim to make it easy to use up your veggies. Picking up a share is also a quick way to get your fill of tasty, local veggies without heading to a farmers' market. With that said, if you like choosing what you receive each week, a CSA might not be the best option.

What’s in EAch Share?

Each CSA box will contain 6-7 items, which will rotate through the seasons. Earlier shares may contain peppers, basil, tomatoes, and herbs while later shares will bring fall crops like cauliflower, carrots, kale, turnips, and even baby ginger. An example of a fall share is shown below.

When and Where Will Pickups Take Place?

Pickups will occur Tuesday evenings from 5:30-6:30 at Printshop Beer Co. in South Knoxville. Shares will be boxed and ready to go, which makes this a good option for busy people. However, you are more than welcome to stay and mingle with other CSA members!

What If I can’t MAke a Pickup?

If you cannot make a pickup, you are welcome to send a friend OR communicate an alternative pickup option ahead of time. However, if you foresee you will miss more than a handful of pickups, this is probably not the best option for you.

I understand life happens, so I will accommodate an alternative pickup time for your first uncommunicated missed pickup. After this, missed pickups will be donated.

How Much Will a CSA Share COst?

The cost for the 9-week season will be $250, or about $27.78 per week. This cost includes a weekly share of vegetables, a weekly email detailing what is in the share and farm updates, as well as the ability to network with other locals who are interested in eating seasonally.

Payment options include check, Vemo, or credit card. Payments may be made in full or in two $125 installments.

What Past CSA Members HAve to SAy

“You brought CSA's to an entirely new level for me! I had only participated in two CSAs prior to yours, and both were in another state years ago. I was shocked to pick up my first CSA with Under Foot Farm and find that all the veggies had been cleaned, WOW! I felt so spoiled being able to munch on lettuce on my drive home.”

“We so enjoyed the CSA all spring and summer. It really helped us get creative with our meals and everything was so tasty.”
