Chattanooga CSA

We will be running a 16-week spring + summer CSA running from April 14 to July 28. After a month-long break during August, we’ll resume with a 12-week fall share.

What’s a csa?

CSA stands for community-supported agriculture. It started as a way for communities to buy into farms before the start of the growing season, so farmers could receive the capital and information they needed to start their season. Share members receive a portion of the farm’s weekly harvest and get to witness the farm change throughout the year. I view it as an easy way to consistently support local farms and receive great veggies.

Is a CSA Right FOr ME?

It depends! A CSA is a great option if you don’t mind trying new things and like most vegetables. By including information like recipes and storage tips with each share, I aim to make it easy to use up your veggies. Picking up a share is also a quick way to get your fill of tasty, local produce without heading to a farmers' market.

What’s in EAch Share?

Each CSA box will contain 6-7 items, which will rotate through the seasons. Spring shares contain lots of greens and roots, summer brings peppers, beans, tomatoes, and later shares will bring fall crops like cauliflower, carrots, kale, turnips, and even baby ginger. Examples of spring and fall shares are shown below.

While you may receive tomatoes or beans multiple weeks in a row, you will not receive the same crops week after week. Don’t worry about having to figure out what to do with ten weeks worth of zucchini!

When and Where Will Pickups Take Place?

Pickups will occur Tuesday evenings from 5:30-6:30 at Two Bikes Chattanooga (1810 E Main St). Shares will be boxed and ready to go, which makes this a good option for busy people who want to quickly grab their veggies. However, you are more than welcome to stay and mingle with other CSA members!

What If I can’t MAke a Pickup?

If you cannot make a pickup, you can send a friend to grab your share. We can also donate your share to a local community fridge.

We cannot accommodate alternative pickup times/locations.

How Much Will a CSA Share COst?

The 16-week CSA will cost $450, or just over $28 per week. Along with your weekly vegetables, you’ll receive produce storage tips, recipes, and invitations to a few member-only events (think potlucks and salsa-making days).

Payment options include check, Venmo, or credit card. Credit card payments will have an additional 3.5% fee.

You may pay in full, or pay in three installments of $150.

What Past CSA Members HAve to SAy

“You brought CSA's to an entirely new level for me! I had only participated in two CSAs prior to yours, and both were in another state years ago. I was shocked to pick up my first CSA with Under Foot Farm and find that all the veggies had been cleaned, WOW! I felt so spoiled being able to munch on lettuce on my drive home.”

“We so enjoyed the CSA all spring and summer. It really helped us get creative with our meals and everything was so tasty.”
